KEYS Job Centre offers daytime English classes throug the LINC program as well as specialized Blended classes (one evening/week with additional online studies)

LINC Program

LINC classes are available to eligible newcomers - Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees. Join KEYS to learn in a friendly and comfortable environment! Students can learn and improve their communication skills for Life in Canada and the Workplace. Our classes focus on: Workplace culture, Academic English, Conversation and Listening, Reading and Vocabulary Building, Writing, Presentation Skills, Pronunciation and IELTs test preparation.

LINC students can access:

  • Parking (limited availability).
  • Bus tickets (must qualify).
  • Special courses such as online or blended options.
  • Guest speakers & field trips.

Begin classes any time - Study full or part-time.

Morning Classes: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am to 11:30am.

Afternoon Classes: Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm to 3:00pm.

Our classes are funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, under the LINC program. The levels are based on the Canadian Language Benchmark Framework, which you can find out more about here. In order to participate in our LINC English classes, students must first get a free language assessment. Contact KEYS today to book your assessment appointment.

KEYS ESL Blended

KEYS ESL Blended is a pilot project funded by the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration. We are developing and offering two blended ESL classes for advanced English learners. These classes consist of one evening/week of in-class study at KEYS and approximately 5 hours/week of independant online studies.

Workplace English Blended: This course is for newcomers who would like to improve their workplace-specific writing and speaking skills such as emails and presenations, while also learning about Canadian workplace culture. Ideal for newcomers who are job searching or currently employed during the day.

IELTS Preparation Blended: This course is for newcomers preparing for the General or Academic IELTS examination. Learn test format, strategies and scoring, do test simulated practice exercises, get online speaking practice and essay feedback.
