Servers are experienced front-line service crew for public dinner cruises and exclusive charters such as weddings and corporate events.
Tasks for Servers include: dining set-up and clean-up, drink and meal orders through Point of Sale (POS) system, team-focused food service, collecting payments for beverage service, anticipating and responding to guest needs, and delivering high service standards.
Bartenders are responsible for preparing beverages for guests directly, or fulfilling a server’s orders that have been entered in the POS system. Bartenders should be passionate about the drinks they are creating and have the ability to memorize the entirety of the bar menu as well as food pairings.Other tasks include: proper opening and closing of the bar, including inventory tracking and ordering, following cleaning procedures, making drink orders efficiently, and operating the POS system.
We are looking for candidates with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, service-focused and ever-changing environment. The best applicants will be well organized and adaptable. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and an overall positive outlook. A successful candidate will not only be a team player but will also have the ability to work well alone, without direct supervision.
No previous experience is necessary to apply, however, some experience in food & beverage service is an asset. Successful applicants will be offered a position as either a Server, Steward or Bartender based on their qualifications, with opportunity to advance based on performance.
All crew must understand the context of hospitality onboard ships and undergo marine orientation by the ship’s Captain before their first shift. Heavy lifting is occasionally required.
Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset.
