Job Description:

The Night Auditor is responsible for posting and balancing charges and settlements; maintaining files; and resetting the systems for the next day's operations. This position requires basic knowledge of accounting operations, mathematical and computing skills and a strong customer service focus.

  • Act as the ambassador and welcoming component of our guests' overnight arrival
  • Problem solving guest concerns and proactively exceeding guest expectations
  • Complete all required checklists/paperwork during shift as required
  • Responding promptly to all requests by guests and employees and informing appropriate contact of maintenance deficiencies, guest concerns or service issues
  • Check in and check out guests, answer phones
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our hotel’s facilities and features
  • Perform all Night Audit duties, including posting of Room & Tax, balancing guest accounts, telephones and end of day reports
  • Review/record in Night Audit and Front Desk logbook to ensure thorough communication and follow up
  • Run tapes for all postings and balance each department
  • Review and balance all credit cards
  • Close batches for Front Desk
  • Print accounting & sales reports


  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must pay attention to detail
  • Must be able to work an 11pm to 7am shift, including weekends & holidays
